The presentation of the Giro d’Italia is scheduled for this afternoon, and there’s a possibility that the route has been leaked beforehand. A circulating image on social media shows a detailed map of the 2024 edition, revealing information that is already public knowledge. This may reduce the impact of surprises during the presentation.
The competition will kick off in May, with the Grande Partenza taking place in the Piedmont region. In recent days, details about the first three stages have been revealed, all featuring hilly routes. The first day will finish in Torino, while the second day will present a specific challenge with a tough ascent to the summit of Monte Oropa.
While there have been rumors about the rest of the route, the circulating image may provide a clearer view of the course.
Summit finishes in Prati di Tivo and Sappada, heavily suggested in recent weeks, are present in the route, as well as a finish in Livigno that is expected to include the iconic Passo dello Stelvio. During the opening week, the race will head south to Naples and then return north through the Adriatic Sea and the Reggio Emilia region, with several days in the Alps to conclude the race and a final day in Rome.
