Odd Christian Eiking, the 29-year-old Norwegian cyclist who wore the leader’s red jersey for several days at the 2021 Vuelta a España, has signed a contract with the Uno-X Mobility team after a period of uncertainty about his career.
There were rumors that Eiking was in negotiations when Eiking was still competing in Intermarché-Wanty (2021), but nothing came to fruition. Despite this, Uno-X Mobility has provided him with the opportunity to continue his career now by signing a contract for the 2024 season.
Eiking’s outstanding career continues
Throughout 2023, Eiking has had several good performances, despite his team, EF Education-EasyPost, choosing not to renew his contract. He finished 2nd in the final stage of the Arctic Race of Norway, 11th in the Tour of Norway and the Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana, in addition to taking 12th place in the Japan Cup.
Eiking’s signing completes the Uno-X Mobility team for 2024, which now has 30 riders under contract and has 2010 World Champion Thor Hushovd as new manager.
New hires and changes at Uno-X Mobility
In addition to Eiking, Uno-X Mobility announced several other new hires for 2024, including Carl-Frederik Bévort, Magnus Cort Nielsen, Andreas Leknessund, Markus Hoelgaard, Jonas Iversby Hvideberg, Johannes Kulset, Sakarias Koller Løland and Rasmus Bøgh Wallin. Bévort and Koller Løland, in particular, come from the Uno-X training team.
