Fellow rider of Tadej Pogacar says the Slovenian might want to compete in all three Grand Tours.

Tadej Pogacar couldn’t regain the yellow jersey in the 2023 Tour de France, and as speculation grows about the possibility of the Slovenian cyclist directing his focus toward the Giro d’Italia next year, his UAE Team Emirates teammate, Rafal Majka, expressed his opinion.

“I don’t know; you need to ask Tadej. Maybe he wants to do all three Grand Tours,” said the 34-year-old Polish rider when asked about the potential goals of his team’s leader for 2024 by the British network GCN. Majka admits that the route of the Giro d’Italia might be favorable to Tadej Pogacar. “I haven’t looked at it, but someone said it’s really good, with many time trials. Of course, I think there are six or seven really tough stages; it should be good.”

The Italians are eager for Tadej Pogacar’s presence at the 2024 Giro d’Italia.

In 2024, the challenge for the general classification seems to have become even more difficult with Pogacar’s compatriot, Primoz Roglic, leaving Jumbo-Visma for new goals with BORA – hansgrohe.

“Since Roglič changed teams, it’s one more team to contend with for the general classification. We won’t just have UAE Team Emirates and Jumbo-Visma, but also Bora now. It’s very interesting to race against these guys,” Majka commented. “It would be good if we had won one of the Grand Tours, but in the next season, we’ll try to change that. It’s cycling, we know it’s tough to win. Next year, we’ll certainly try to win a Grand Tour.”
