EF Education-Easypost announces the signing of an Australian talent

The EF Education-EasyPost team remains very active in the transfer market. A new name will join the team in 2024: Harry Sweeny. The Australian was competing for Lotto Dstny, the team that turned him professional in 2021.

While with the Belgian team, Sweeny showed promise with a victory at Il Piccolo Lombardia (Tour of Lombardy U23) and established himself as one of the great talents of the 1998 generation. However, in the professional ranks, the Australian faced more challenges. With the transfer to EF Education-EasyPost, he hopes to thrive in a new environment and showcase his full potential.

“My biggest ambition for the coming years is to reach my full potential as a rider,” reveals Sweeny. “I love all the different disciplines of cycling, and I’m really looking forward to exploring them further with EF Education-EasyPost. I would love to be part of the team that tries to win the Tour de France or attempts to win the Tour of Flanders.”

Jonathan Vaughters is also optimistic about Harry Sweeny. “He’s a strong guy who can climb and help riders like Marijn van den Berg in sprints,” he says. “Harry also has a good knack for breakaways, so we’re counting on him to continue our tradition of stage wins in Grand Tours.”
