Cian Uijtdebroeks’ career management staff has revealed that his contract with BORA-Hansgrohe was indeed terminated. Additionally, they claim that legal proceedings have been initiated, and the UCI has been informed of the situation. Uijtdebroeks also shared posts from various media outlets on his social media.
The contract is said to have been terminated on December 1st.
“The agreement between Cian Uijtdebroeks and BORA-Hansgrohe was terminated on December 1, 2023. Legal proceedings have been initiated by Cian, and the UCI has been informed of the contract termination. Cian is confident in the outcome of the ongoing process and will not comment at this time. Of course, Cian is excited and looking forward to his move to Visma-Lease a Bike,” stated the cyclist’s staff.
Uijtdebroeks’ management felt compelled to respond after BORA-Hansgrohe denied the news that the Belgian cyclist would compete next season for Visma-Lease a Bike. “Cian is and will remain a member of BORA-Hansgrohe next season. He is contractually bound to us until December 31, 2024,” announced the German team, refuting the transfer.
