BORA-hansgrohe secured its first victory of the World Tour season at the Tour Down Under, but the news that will perhaps have global repercussions is even more significant. According to a report from German news agency DPA, the German team is expected to unveil a new uniform ahead of the Tour de France.
Red Bull, a renowned internationally recognized sports drink brand, recently acquired 51% of the rights to the team and thus, according to the agency, would have its name printed on the new shirt.
The German team’s deep connection with the sport in Austria, where Red Bull is based, is evident, and the signing of former mountaineer Anton Palzer further strengthens these ties.
Contacts with Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel
Also according to the newspaper, BORA-Hansgrohe had contacted Wout van Aert and Remco Evenepoel, raising the possibility of presenting them within a “Red Bull” project.
Wout van Aert is currently sponsored by the brand and the report adds that the German team has contacted the Belgian. His compatriot and fellow superstar Remco Evenepoel was also contacted, the DPA revealed.
