The general manager of Bahrain-Victorious, Milan Erzen, told RadioCycling that they are actively searching for a second title sponsor, lamenting that the team’s finances are far from the top four or five teams.
RadioCycling reports that the team’s budget is around 30 million euros per year, which would be less than half of the reported budgets of Ineos Grenadiers, Jumbo-Visma, and UAE-Team Emirates. A new sponsor would add between 10 and 12 million euros.
Bahrain-Victorious had a co-sponsor in 2019 and 2020, but McLaren withdrew due to financial cuts caused by the Covid pandemic. “We are always looking and working on it to bring in a second title sponsor,” said Erzen.
“It all depends on how much someone can afford for it. Everything is on the table. We’ve had some discussions with potential partners,” Erzen concludes.
