Florian Sénéchal raced for Soudal Quick-Step in the last five seasons. However, the former French Champion (2022) transferred to Arkéa-B&B Hotels this year. With the French team, he is expected to be the leader in the Spring Classics.
Sénéchal will act as a domestique early in the season.
The 30-year-old Sénéchal will be a domestique for Arnaud Démare in his first two races of the season, the Clásica de Almería and the Volta ao Algarve. However, in the Flemish spring, the Frenchman will have total freedom to do as he pleases.
The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne will be Sénéchal’s first commitments in classics.
Florian will be the leader of Arkéa-B&B Hotels.
“Florian must establish himself as the leader of Arkéa-B&B Hotels,” reveals former cyclist Didier Rous, now the team manager, straightforwardly. “It’s a role he should take on early in the season in the Semi-Classics and Cobbled Classics, especially in Paris-Roubaix. That’s his favorite competition, and we hope he performs at a very high level.”
Sénéchal doesn’t hide ambitions
“I want to win. Paris-Roubaix would be great; it’s the classic I like the most. But I’ll have to show myself in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. I’ll have to always be among the top 10 there. If I can’t do that, it will be a failure.”
