The market for acquiring Soudal Quick-Step’s potential spot is heating up. After the Norwegian team UNO-X confirmed its interest, now Israel-Premier Tech has revealed that it has always intended to join the most powerful teams in the cycling world. The Israeli team, since signing Chris Froome, has consistently demonstrated ambitions to step up.
Team owner with significant investment power
The team’s owner, Sylvan Adams, is very wealthy and, therefore, capable of making deals. Last season, the team was relegated from the WorldTour, but the UCI managed to grant them a wild card, ensuring the team’s participation in all WorldTour races, except, of course, the Grand Tours.
The Israeli team is currently in second place in the ProTeams rankings, putting them in a position that grants them promotion to the WorldTour after 2025. To reinforce this ambition, they have signed no less than four sprinters and three other sprint talents. Pascal Ackermann, Hugo Hofstetter, and Ethan Vernon are among these new signings.
Israel-Premier Tech is interested in the license
Perhaps this may not even be necessary, and Adams can return to the highest level after only one year by acquiring the license. “It’s no secret that we would like to return to the WorldTour. So, if a WorldTour license becomes available, Israel-Premier Tech is absolutely interested in taking up that license,” a team spokesperson confided to the Dutch website WielerFlits when asked about the interest in a potential World Tour spot.
