The team resulting from the merger of Jumbo-Visma has attracted its first major new sponsor for the coming years. The American e-commerce company Amazon, based in Seattle, will be one of the new supporters of the cycling team. This was confirmed by the prominent Dutch businessman Chris Woerts on the television program ‘Vandaag Inside.’
The businessman Chris Woerts stated that Amazon would be a title sponsor of the team, investing no less than 15 million euros, in addition to Visma’s 20 million. However, various sources suggest that the American giant Amazon will not be, as Woerts indicates, one of the team’s title sponsors but will act as a co-sponsor of the team. Amazon has been working closely with Jumbo-Visma since 2022.
Team with a Prime Series
Last year, the “All-in Team Jumbo-Visma” series detailing the team was featured on Amazon’s Prime streaming service. This series will continue this year and will become a special series highlighting the overall victories of Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard, and Sepp Kuss in the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España, respectively.
Meeting with Specialized Representatives
Bicycle manufacturer Specialized is also considered one of the key partners of the new team. The Belgian newspaper HLN reported today that earlier this week, a meeting took place in Breda, the Netherlands, between an executive from Jumbo-Visma and a delegation from Specialized.
