AG2R is reportedly signing one of the best sprinters in the peloton

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Sam Bennett is on his way to AG2R Citroen, as reported by the British channel GCN. The Irish sprinter has been linked to other teams before, but now it seems he is opting for the French WorldTour team, AG2R Citroën. Bennett would sign a two-year contract.

Bennett is one of many sprinters who would not have a contract with his current team after this year. A new contract with BORA-Hansgrohe was also no longer possible, so Bennett had to look for a new team. Initially, a deal with the American team Human Powered Health seemed certain, but that team will end its involvement in professional cycling at the end of this season.

Therefore, there is now good news for Bennett, who is currently participating in the Tour of Britain. AG2R Citroën has offered him a two-year contract, ensuring Bennett’s presence in top-level international competitions.
