The start of the 2023 Vuelta a España will take place this year on the streets of Barcelona. In a 14.8-kilometer team time trial, the teams will pass through most of Barcelona’s highlights, although the cyclists likely won’t be paying much attention to that during their efforts.
The route doesn’t involve many ascents; however, it will be a technically demanding course due to the numerous curves, which will require the athletes to accelerate and decelerate frequently.
