Wout van Aert will be the major sensation in the upcoming edition of the Tour of Britain (September 3 to 10). On social media, the organizing team of the competition revealed that the Belgian cyclist from Team Jumbo-Visma will be present at the starting line.
Van Aert also participated in the start of the Tour of Britain two years ago and ended up securing the overall victory. The Belgian engaged in three fierce battles that year with Ethan Hayter and the then-world champion Julian Alaphilippe. Van Aert also claimed victory in no less than four out of the eight stages that year.
There is still uncertainty about Wout van Aert’s future plans for the upcoming months of road competitions. Belgian national coach Sven Vanthourenhout let slip that Van Aert has expressed interest in participating in the European Cycling Championships in Drenthe. Van Aert would be interested in both the road race (September 24) and the Time Trial (September 20), which would take place in Dutch territory.
