Challenged by the undulations of the Moroccan desert from April 28th to May 3rd, the Kosner-Saltoki team, made up of approximately 60 members, including both customers and employees as well as professional cyclists.
A challenge worthy of cycling legends
This is more than just a race. Titan Desert brings together extreme conditions, covering around 700 km of desert terrain with more than 6,500 meters of accumulated difference between dunes and the Atlas mountain ranges.
The Kosner-Saltoki team surprised in the last edition of Titan Desert, achieving a triumph in the women’s general class with Tessa Kortekaas and a magnificent first place in the mixed pair, formed by Losu Torres and Ainara Elbusto. It is expected that the team will maintain its impressive performance and look for more victories in the 2024 competition.
Valuable advice from veterans
The team’s veteran cyclists didn’t hesitate to share their experiences of the race. Miguel Indurain, for example, revealed that “the objective is to try to finish” and that, despite the challenges posed by the heat, terrain and navigation, “it is worth” facing this challenging race.
On the other hand, Luis León Sánchez, who recently retired, has already tried the Titan in Almería and in Arabia and shared that he is still learning. For Óscar Pereiro, the race is a challenge and he compared his debut in 2011 at Titan Desert to the feeling of being “like a fish out of water”.
