Guillaume Martin will make his debut on the white gravel roads of Strade Bianche this year. The Frenchman, also known for his degree and master’s degree in philosophy, will participate in the Italian classic for the first time in 2024, as revealed during the Cofidis media day.
Premiere at Strade Bianchi
Martin never participated in Strade Bianche, mainly because he used to participate in Paris-Nice. The “Sun Race” traditionally starts the day after the Tuscan classic. However, in 2024, the 30-year-old Frenchman will make his first appearance in the prestigious one-day race, even if he starts at Paris-Nice the following day.
Tour de France and Vuelta a España in 2024
The French cyclist will mainly focus his attention on the Grand Tours this year. In the summer, Martin will compete in the Tour de France for the eighth time, but this will not be his only three-week stage race in 2024. After the Tour, he is also aiming for his third Vuelta a España.
Martin has taken eighth and tenth place in the Tour in the past, as well as ninth in the Vuelta. In the last Vuelta he also secured the mountain classification.
