Juan Ayuso Makes Startling Revelation About His Diet and Preparation for Vuelta a España

Juan Ayuso is widely regarded as one of the foremost cyclists in the peloton today. In addition to his abundant natural talent on the bike, his incredible dedication seems to propel the Spanish rider to new heights in the sport he loves.

In a recent interview, the UAE Team Emirates cyclist, who stood on the podium at last year’s Vuelta a España, provided an insightful glimpse into the life of a professional cyclist and the rigors that coincide with the required commitment to stay in top form.

“Throughout the entire year, there are only 4 days when I can eat whatever I want,” the Spanish talent revealed.

“I always have a scale to weigh my food and to weigh myself,” Ayuso explains. His usual weight hovers around 63 kilograms for a height of 1.84 meters. “Now I only live in Andorra, but when I lived with my parents, I started weighing food. At 17, I began working with my nutritionist, Gorka. Until then, I was like any other guy, and now it’s no trouble for me to take food, put it on the scale, and eat.”

“It’s no use doing everything right on the bike, getting in spectacular shape if you don’t take care of your nutrition,” says the 20-year-old, explaining his routine. “It’s better to train less and pay more attention to nutrition and other things. The permission they give me at Christmas is enough for me, and I don’t need to stray from that.”
