“The lineup of Lotto Dstny for La Vuelta a España has been unveiled. The Belgian ProTeam will feature sprinter Milan Menten, along with riders aiming for stage victories such as Thomas De Gendt. Notably, it marks the debut of Lennert Van Eetvelt in his first appearance in a Grand Tour.
At 26 years old, Menten claimed victory at Le Samyn early in the season. Following that, he secured commendable placements in challenging races.”
For Thomas De Gendt, this will be his ninth Vuelta a España appearance. The attacker has previously secured a stage victory in the competition, notably in 2017 in Gijón. The 2023 season hasn’t gone as planned for De Gendt, partially due to a fall in Paris-Nice. However, he has displayed promising performances recently in the Tour of Poland.
At 22 years of age, Van Eetvelt finished fifteenth in the same Tour of Poland. A month earlier, the Belgian climbing talent had achieved a second-place finish in the Sibiu Cycling Tour, where he also triumphed in the mountain stage to Bâlea Lac.
