Edvald Boasson Hagen seems to have secured a spot in the WorldTour circuit for the upcoming season. Edvald Boasson Hagen won the 19th stage of the Tour de France in 2017.

It’s a challenging moment in Boasson Hagen’s career. Initially, it seemed he had two options. Uno-X Mobility, Norway’s ProTour team, appeared to be a logical choice, but there was no room for him there. Both INEOS Grenadiers and DSM-Firmenich PostNL showed interest and initiated talks with the three-time Tour de France stage winner. However, negotiations with both teams ultimately did not progress.

The Norwegian cyclist wore the yellow jersey of the Criterium du Dauphiné after winning the first stage of the race in 2019.

Now, it seems that the solution may come from the French scene. Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale is also reportedly interested in the services of the Norwegian cyclist. While no contract has been signed yet, there are rumors that it won’t be long. This indicates that Boasson Hagen is heading into his seventeenth season as a professional cyclist.
