Mathieu Van der Poel is picked up from his home by a private jet to compete and introduces a new jersey and bicycle.

Today (20.08), the Natour Criterium is underway in Etten-Leur, Netherlands. The list of contenders features none other than the newly crowned world champion, Mathieu van der Poel. Furthermore, among the participants, we have Lotte Kopecky, the women’s world champion, the triumphant Tour winner, Demi Vollering, Annemiek van Vleuten, Puck Pieterse, and Fabio Jakobsen.

All eyes are, of course, on Mathieu van der Poel. The Dutchman enjoyed a well-deserved vacation this week in Marbella with a group of friends, engaging in activities like golf. The organizers of the Etten-Leur Criterium fetched him this morning via a private plane on the Spanish coast.

Meanwhile, the numerous fans in attendance have already had the opportunity to catch a glimpse of his new rainbow jersey. And yes, just like during his phenomenal victory at the Amstel Gold Race, he sports the contentious white shorts beneath his rainbow jersey. His bicycle has also undergone a special paint job.
