Theodor Storm had already been monitored by INEOS Grenadiers for some time. During the past summer, rumors indicated that the young cyclist would join the team led by Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas, Laurens De Plus, and Thymen Arensman from 2025 onwards. However, the powerful British team decided to accelerate Storm’s entry.
The initial expectation was for Storm to gain a year of experience on the continental scene before transitioning to elite cycling. Surprisingly, INEOS Grenadiers chose to expedite the process, integrating Storm in 2024. This way, the young Danish rider skips the development category, following in the footsteps of talents like Remco Evenepoel, Quinn Simmons, and his future teammate, Carlos Rodríguez.
Theodor Storm left a good impression in the junior category during the last season. He achieved notable victories, such as in the EPZ Omloop van Borsele, and triumphed in a stage of the Grand Prix de Rüebliland. Additionally, he secured a third-place finish in the Sub-19 edition of Paris-Roubaix. His ability as a domestique was also evident during the World Cup, where he worked for the winner Albert Philipsen (Lidl-Trek in 2024), while he himself finished in fifth place.
INEOS CEO Excited
John Allert, the team’s CEO, is very excited. “Theodor is a rider with enormous potential. He is a great addition to our already impressive set of talents. There is a trend among young cyclists to move immediately to the WorldTour, but we are aware that these athletes also need the right support to perform optimally. Theodor has all the necessary resources at our disposal.”
