Marc Sarreau returns to the Groupama-FDJ team after his stint with the AG2R-Citroën Team. The experienced 30-year-old French sprinter has a deep knowledge of the team, as he started his professional career there in 2015 and had the best seasons of his career.
During his three years at AG2R-Citroën Team, things didn’t go as expected for the Frenchman. “It was three tough years due to injuries and illnesses. But those problems are behind me now, and I want to fully focus on my new environment. The team has a lot of confidence in me, and I know the house well; this should bring me back to my best level.”
A new role in Marc Madiot’s team.
However, Sarreau wants to do this in a new role. “I want to become more of a leader. I now have nine years of sprinting experience and preferred to return to the role where it all started for me. Back then, I raced for Arnaud Démare; now I want to take on the role of an older brother to young talents like Paul Penhoët and Matthew Walls. This is what I was looking for.”
