For several days, rumors have been circulating about a possible transfer of Cian Uijtdebroeks from BORA-hansgrohe to Groupama-FDJ at the end of 2023. The news was revealed by Charles Marsault, editor-in-chief of the French website Velo-Club.net. However, according to recent information, it is highly unlikely that the Belgian cyclist will leave the team to join Marc Madiot.

The general manager of Groupama-FDJ commented on this situation to the French website Cyclism’Actu, stating, “Nothing is happening. Marsault is just dreaming and fantasizing. Is he really a journalist? I believe not. These rumors are disruptive for the cyclist, his team, and also for us. The rider is under contract.” In fact, the winner of the 2022 Tour de l’Avenir still has a contract with BORA-hansgrohe until the end of 2024.

Despite some rumors that arose during the Vuelta a España, where he finished 8th, and his partnership with Aleksandr Vlasov, it seems that Uijtdebroeks is content within the German team and wishes to fulfill his contract.
