Isaac del Toro will make his WorldTour debut next year. The 19-year-old Mexican, who won the 2023 Tour de l’Avenir, has signed a three-year contract with UAE Team Emirates.
Del Toro surprised the cycling world by winning the final stage of the Tour de l’Avenir on the Col de l’Iseran, overtaking race leader Matthew Riccitello. His second-place finish on the day was enough to secure the overall victory in the prestigious under-23 race. He also claimed a victory on the Col de la Loze earlier in the competition.
The young climber, who will turn 20 at the end of November, has signed a three-year contract with the team. With this addition, UAE Team Emirates now has a roster of 30 riders under contract for 2024, the limit allowed by the UCI.
