Il Lombardia announces participating teams; Pogacar, Roglic, and Remco showdown confirmed

The organization of Il Lombardia will welcome 25 teams at the start in Como in just over two weeks, on Saturday, October 7th. In addition to the eighteen WorldTeams, seven ProTeams will also participate.

The 117th edition of Il Lombardia, also known as “the race of the falling leaves,” will have a strong start list. The organization will be looking for a successor to Tadej Pogacar, the winner of the last two editions. The Slovenian, who celebrates his 25th birthday today (September 21st), has already confirmed his presence in pursuit of a third victory.

Invited Teams

In addition to the World Tour teams, the following ProTeams will be present: EOLO-Kometa, Green Project – Bardiani CSF Faizanè, Swiss Q36.5 Pro Cycling, Israel-Premier Tech, Lotto Dstny, TotalEnergies, and Tudor Pro Cycling. Three of these ProTeams already had guaranteed invitations based on their final rankings in the 2022 UCI Team Ranking.
