Remco Evenepoel and his wife Oumi Rayane are taking action for Morocco, which was recently hit by a major earthquake. The two of them hope to raise as much money as possible for the Red Cross through a donation campaign. Evenepoel himself donated 10,000 euros.
“Together we want to make a difference for the victims and the local population affected by the earthquake in Morocco️,” is the message in a video on Twitter. “We are therefore starting a donation campaign with a personal contribution, with the total amount going to the Red Cross in the Flanders region of Belgium, which provides assistance to the affected people through its international network.️”
Those who donate will have the chance to win various items from the champion. Evenepoel will provide race items used by himself. These items include a signed racing helmet, a signed racing suit, and a pair of signed cycling shoes. The Belgian champion has a special connection to Morocco as his wife, Oumi, is of Moroccan descent.
