Immediately after the arrival at Angliru, there was a conversation between Sepp Kuss and Mikel Landa. The Spaniard soon revealed that Kuss had apologized to him.
Kuss is highly appreciated by everyone in the group. Always friendly, always sincere. This was evident once again yesterday when they reached Angliru. During the steep ascent, he was in Mikel Landa’s slipstream in the final phase while trying to catch up with Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard.
In the last flat section towards the finish, Kuss managed to overtake Landa, securing third place in the stage and, consequently, the bonus seconds. After finishing, Kuss immediately approached the Basque rider, as shown in the video below.
In the video itself, it’s difficult to hear clearly, but according to people present, during the conversation with Landa in Spanish, Kuss apologized and said it’s not his style to do it that way, but he had to do it because of the bonus seconds.
Landa later mentioned in an interview that he appreciated Kuss’s words very much and that they say a lot about the kind of person Kuss is.
