Colombian cyclist Fernando Gaviria of Movistar Team suffered a fracture in his right collarbone, as reported by the Spanish team, following his withdrawal during the sixth stage of the 2023 Tour of Britain.
Gaviria, who was forced to abandon the British competition due to a crash, underwent specific medical examinations, which ultimately confirmed the fracture.
The Colombian, who was making a return to action in this race and had previously won a stage at the Vuelta a San Juan and another at the Tour de Romandie earlier in the season, was unable to achieve success in stages despite being in all the sprint finishes (his best position was 33rd in the fifth stage).
It hasn’t been an easy season for Gaviria, who had suffered three crashes in this year’s Giro d’Italia.
