Enric Mas (Movistar Team), disheartened, complains about the collaboration with Juan Ayuso

At the end of the 13th stage of the Vuelta, Enric Mas didn’t hide that he had mixed feelings, the first being related to his improved position in the general classification, as he explained.

“The Jumbo Visma was dominant, but I’m happy,” he told several media outlets. Mas finished sixth in the stage and moved up from ninth to fifth place in the overall standings. “The three riders from Jumbo Visma didn’t open up very big gaps, and we gained time on important competitors in the general classification. The feeling was good, but it’s tough to compete against such a large number.”

Regarding his collaboration with Juan Ayuso and Cian Uijtdebroeks, Mas had another sentiment. “The relationship with Juan Ayuso and Cian Uijtdebroeks wasn’t perfect. But it was only the first true mountain stage, and tomorrow will also be an important day,” concluded the 28-year-old climber.
