Danny van Poppel won the sixth stage of the Tour of Britain 2023. The Dutch rider from BORA-hansgrohe narrowly defeated Ethan Vernon, who is competing for the British national team, and Tord Gudmestad of Uno-X. Olav Kooij, this time, finished in 4th place.
The sixth stage of the Tour of Britain was again a stage for sprinters. The route covered 146 mostly flat kilometers between Southend-on-Sea and Harlow. The Ship Road climb, located fifty kilometers from the finish, was the only obstacle of the day, but it wasn’t strong enough to create significant gaps.
With this result, Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) remains in the lead of the Tour of Britain, followed by Ethan Vernon (British National Team) at 3 seconds behind the leader.
