The fourth stage in Britain took place in the English county of Nottinghamshire. Between Sherwood Forest and Newark-on-Trent, the cyclists had to cover 166 kilometers. After three previous victories, all eyes were once again on Jumbo-Visma, who had won in Manchester, Wrexham, and Beverley with Kooij after a sublime lead-out by Wout van Aert.
Once again, Wout Van Aert’s lead-out was perfect, allowing Kooij to start his sprint in a privileged position. The young sprinter had to push hard in the last 50 meters to stay ahead of Casper van Uden from Team DSM-Firmenich, who finished second, but Kooij remains unbeatable for now.
