For the third consecutive day, sprinters dominated at the Tour of Britain. The third stage started in Goole and concluded 154.7 km later in Beverly. The only obstacles were two short climbs in the early part of the race.
The peloton had a bit more difficulty in catching the early breakaway this time. Nils Politt and British rider Matthew Bostock were caught just 6 km from the finish. The sprinter teams then put their squads to work.
In Beverly, the same scenario unfolded as in the two previous days. Wout van Aert led the sprint, and afterward, the leader Olav Kooij finished it off. The 21-year-old sprinter clinches his 3rd victory in three days and remains the leader. Danny van Poppel (BORA hansgrohe) finished second, just like yesterday. Ethan Vernon finished in third place.
