The Paris-Tours featured many world-class sprinters and classic specialists, but it was an Israel – Premier Tech intern who secured the victory. Riley Sheehan made a name for himself in the French classic.
A breakaway of five riders went up the road and this break proved to be a crucial part of the race. As the riders headed into the gravel sectors, the gap remained significant, and with constant attacks behind, the gap was not quickly closed.
Lewis Askey then went solo from the front and was later caught by a group containing his teammate Olivier Le Gac, Tovias Johannessen, Riley Sheehan, and Joris Delbove.
It seemed like a group that wasn’t overly threatening as many of the big names were missing, but the peloton couldn’t catch them. Le Gac launched the sprint for his teammate Askey, but in the end, it was Israel Premier Tech with intern Riley Sheehan who raced to victory, defeating Askey and Johannessen.
