The Soudal Quick-Step team, long recognized as one of the most cohesive and united in the World Tour peloton, recently engaged in a team-building activity, including the well-known “Murder Mystery” game. The team, which has been integrating new talents like Gianni Moscon and Mikel Landa, participated in this event as part of their preparations.
Earlier, the Soudal Quick-Step squad spent two days at Soudal’s facilities in Turnhout, having their traditional autumn meeting. From there, they traveled to Oostende, arriving on Tuesday night. The cyclists stayed at the iconic Thermae Palace, enjoying its beautiful surroundings and stunning sea view.
“We were in search of a team-building event during our team meeting held at the Soudal offices in Turnhout,” revealed the team’s sports director, Tom Steels, as reported on the team’s website. “We express our gratitude to Meet in Oostende for their assistance in organizing this event and for hosting it at the charming Thermae Palace hotel.”
The challenge required the riders to think outside the box to find new solutions as the team split into ‘runners’ and ‘thinkers’ teams, with the ‘thinkers’ undertaking various tests that they would then send the ‘runners’ on a quest through Oostende to gather clues to help solve the mystery.
“All involved had some very enjoyable days, and we can enjoy a team spirit that we hope to carry into the next season. It was the perfect venue and a fantastic event,” concluded Steels.
