The UAE Team Emirates has confirmed its lineup for Il Lombardia and is aiming for victory. Tadej Pogacar leads the lineup in pursuit of a hat-trick, entering in good form and alongside Primoz Roglic, assuming the status of the top favorite.
Adam Yates will be a strong support rider for the team, having a route perfectly suited for climbers this year. He will, as in the Tour de France, be an important card and podium candidate, with Rafal Majka and Davide Formolo, who are also expected to help set the pace. Marc Hirschi arrives in great form, even though he may not perform as well on the long climbs anticipated for Saturday. Diego Ulissi and Sjoerd Bax complete the roster.
“It’s one of the top five one-day races on the calendar. It suits climbers, so it suits me, and it’s usually the last race of the season for me,” commented Pogacar. “It’s a big race, a long race, tough climbs, and you really need to be in good shape to finish well. I won on this course two years ago, so it suits me.”
