And the Vuelta a España 2023 begins! The main favorite, Remco Evenepoel, would like to repeat his success from last year. To give him extra motivation, the bike sponsor Specialized has prepared a special bicycle for his quest for the Vuelta’s second championship.
Evenepoel rode with the rainbow-colored bike last season, but now the world championship title belongs to Mathieu van der Poel, so he no longer has permission to ride with that rainbow bike.
Therefore, Specialized gave the bike a new paint job. The bicycle is mostly black with white blocks on the frame and a golden seat post, with Remco Evenepoel’s initials painted on the top tube of the frame as a detail.
By the way, this is the latest version, the Tarmac SL8. Evenepoel also took part in the World Championship in Glasgow aboard such a model. If you want to acquire one, you’ll have to pay around 14,000 euros for it.
