Doncic, who surpassed 10,000 career points this season, is known for gifting his teammates presents at the end of the year.
When Dallas Mavericks’ point guard and captain, Luka Doncic, surprised his teammates and team staff with electric bicycles on Christmas, their reactions were captured on video and went viral on the internet.
The bicycle model Doncic gifted his team is not an ordinary one. It’s the Mercedes N+ Rallye Edition e-bike, set to be sold for $7,500 and not yet available to the general public.
The N+ brand exists in collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team, and its design is as elegant as an F1 car.
The N+ e-bikes come in two options: the $7,500 Rallye Edition and the $5,500 Track Edition. The bicycles feature a 750W motor and a 48V, 10Ah battery, with the option to add a secondary 48V, 5Ah battery, and a 5.5″ LCD screen.
Players delighted with the gift
Mavericks point guard Dante Exum smiled as he said in the post-game press conference that the team couldn’t wait to check out their new vehicles.
“I think they’re a great gift,” Exum said. “The meeting we had was pretty short because we were all excited about the bikes.”
Small forward Tim Hardaway Jr. chose to test his model immediately and could be seen riding through the arena corridors right after the game.
