The Lidl-Trek team made a significant leap in the general classification during the Tour of Denmark. In the 3rd stage towards Vejle, Mads Pedersen and Mattias Skjelmose delivered an exceptional performance. They left the other riders from the favorites’ group behind with an incredible display of skill and joined forces in the final stretch to lead the peloton.
In the final climb, the talented Danish cyclist and national champion, Skjelmose, showcased his superiority as he crossed the finish line in first place, securing the stage victory and taking over the lead in the general classification.
The first part of the race was predominantly flat, but the final portion proved to be quite challenging. In the passage through the local area of Vejle, which covered about ten km and was traversed three times, there were two distinct climbs.
The first was an 800-meter hill with a gradient of 6.8%, where the finish line was located. Right after that, there was a second climb of 400 meters with a gradient exceeding 7%.
