Wout Van Aert announces investment in an unusual product

After investing in the real estate company Heylen Vastgoed in Antwerp in June 2022, Wout van Aert and his wife Sarah De Bie have decided to invest in Mon Dada, a Belgian manufacturer of handmade candles in concrete pots.

In 2019, the Belgian Pauline Dhaenens created her first candles in New York. Today, her luxury candles are distributed through a strong network of retailers in more than 40 countries. Her own handmade, uniquely scented candles are 100% made in Belgium.

The deal was finalized after months of negotiations. In recent months, discussions began between Wout van Aert and his wife Sarah De Bie’s team and Pauline Dhaenens, the founder of Mon Dada. As a result, Wout & Sarah recently acquired a significant stake in Mon Dada.

“Several investors showed great interest in joining our thriving and expanding business. It was an opportunity to take a new direction with Mon Dada, and for that, we didn’t want to skip any steps,” explains Pauline. From the initial proposal, Pauline saw the full potential of a possible collaboration with Wout and Sarah to elevate Mon Dada to new heights.

Wout and Sarah don’t hide their satisfaction with the enthusiasm, passion, and creativity that drive Pauline. The ambitions and vision of Mon Dada align perfectly with their entrepreneurial philosophy. They are, therefore, happy to join forces with Pauline and work with her team to make Mon Dada a reference company.
